The Classic Bundt Cake Recipe

The classic is always good and this recipe never fails. Easy to make, full of taste.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter (keep some butter to butter the baking pan)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1 shot brandy or cognac
  • 1 shot orange juice
  • zest from one orange unwaxed
  • caster sugar for decoration

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven at 190 °C
  2. Beat the sugar with the butter in a mixer at high speed until creamy
  3. Add the eggs one by one while beating the mix. Add the brandy, orange juice and orange zest.
  4. Lower speed and add salt and baking powder. Add the flour and mix
  5. Put the mix in a buttered bundt pan and place in the oven at the lower rack.
  6. Bake for 1 hour
  7. Let cool for 30 minutes before removing the cake from the bundt pan
  8. Before serving you can add some caster sugar on top for decoration

 

Variation: You can add raisins or other dried fruits or nuts in the mix.
